* XIMB was again in the limelight recently when "Utkarsh" ,the placement brochure of PGDM(Rural Management) for the year 2010 got the 2nd prize in Dewang Mehta Awards.

* Spardha,a social entrepreneurship game by RMAX, the Rural managers' association of XIMB, was one of the highlights of recently concluded Xpressions 09,the annual fest of XIMB. Out of the 32 registered teams,4 got to participate in the final round which included drawing up a social business plan for a specified village. The winner was the team from XIMB comprising of Parambrahma Mohapatra,Pavithra C, Komal Agarwal (students of PGPRM-2).The winning team walked away with a cash prize of Rs 40000.

* Tarak Raghupati and Jay Shankar's(Students of second year PGDMRM course) case study has been selected for Microfinance India Summit,2009.The case has been selected as one among the ten best cases in "Sitaram Rao Livelihoods Casestudy Competition" organised by Access Development services in collaboration with MDI, Gurgaon.It has been published in the book "The Poor And The Private Sector".

* Anup Kumar Singh and Kiran Mahasuar of 2008-10 batch won Rs 5000 at RMAI Awards for Best Summer Projects held on 18-Sep-09 at New Delhi for thier project titled "Business Plan & Financial Model Development for Gram Tarang"

* Samveet Sahoo and Prabir Barooah of 2009-2011 batch won the 1st prize at the mega contest of Concept Marketing namely BRANDSTORM' arranged by MAXIM, The Marketing Association of XIMB on 9-July-09. A total of 70 teams participated in the event.
'Gyaan Gadi Dhyaan Gadi', an E-services platform for rural consumers using Mobile Vans and Wireless VSat technology, is a unique concept that shows tremendous promise to empower the rural society. Renowned Marketing Professor, Dr. Rajiv Roy, judged the event.
Go rural is the buzz word now a days!! This product has all the potential to fulfill that aspiration, Dr. Roy commented after the results were announced.

* Anupam and Sainath of 2008-10 batch won the 1st prize at chomskybot, a debate and paper presentation competition held during PARIVARTAN 09 organised by DMS, IIT Delhi on 3-Apr-09. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and other gift hampers.

* Param Brahma and Pavitra of 2008-10 batch won the 1st prize at the Rural Business Plan contest held at Centre for Agri Management, Utkal University on 1-Apr-2009.The business plan was on innovative health care service delivery using ICT.

* Shitanshu and Ketaki of 2008-10 batch won a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 at the case study competition "Consigliere" arranged as a part of the annual college festival Kritansh 2009 organised by KIIT,Bhubaneswar on 14-Feb-2009. The students provided solution for case regarding privatisation of water supply system in India.
