Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) was established in 1987 by the Orissa Jesuit Society, through a social contract with the Government of Orissa. Since then, the institute has been widely recognised for its excellence and is counted among the leading Management Institutions in the country. It offers an enriching array of programmes - the flagship programme, the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM),the newly launched Postgraduate Diploma in Management Human Resources (PGDM-HRM), the Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM), the Part-Time Programme for Working Executives (PGDM-PT), Management Development Programmes, Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Business Management (PGCBM), and the doctoral level Fellow Programme Management (FPM).

As a consequence, that XIMB has been consistently rated among the top 10 B-Schools in India and belongs to the exclusive "Super League of B-Schools", as rated by AIMA. In the wake of evolving India, XIMB has endeavoured to broaden its global outlook and has greatly enhanced its presence in the international arena through initiatives such as hosting international business conferences and student exchange programmes. The institute has also been awarded the South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) Accreditation by the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). Apart from its academic thrust and strong industry interface, it has undertaken to engage students in social development projects.
