Xavier Institute of management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) continued its dominance amongst the country's B schools with Xuberance 2012, the annual campus recruitment process. Beating the uptight market conditions, XIMB was among the first few campuses to register 100% placements, for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Course, reiterating the strong academic and industry orientation of the institute. Xuberance 2012 added another feather to its cap by drawing in several first time recruiters, in addition to the regular recruiters.

The batch of 2012 saw an average salary of Rs. 11.42 lakhs per annum. The median salary stood at Rs.10.83 lakhs per annum.

Over 25% students in a batch of 180 have received Pre-Placement calls from their summer internship organizations. This strong momentum continued during the Placement week with the participation of over 61 companies in Xuberance 2012. Of these, 26% were first time recruiters, a fact which reinstates the position of XIMB as one of the top B-Schools in the country.

Recruiters like Cognizant Business Consulting, OLAM International, HCCBPL, Deloitte, USL Group, TATA HRDP, TCS, Dr Reddy's, Reckitt Benckiser, Tata Steel, Idea, SBI Capital Markets strenghtened their relationship with XIMB while new bonds were formed with Ashok Leyland, HDFC Life, Emami, Goldman Sachs, Shapoorji Pallonji, Tata Interactive Systems, HSBC and United Breweries Ltd to name a few - a testament to the growing brand equity of this institute.

The profiles offered varied in their diversity, encompassing Corporate Finance, Equity Research, Investment Banking, Marketing, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Business Consulting, IT Consulting and Corporate HR.

OLAM International offered the highest international package of USD 50,000 per annum in the General Management profile while the highest domestic salary scaled to Rs. 15.5 lakhs per annum

A new paradigm was established in the Consulting area with 14% of the students foraying into this field. Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte, KPMG etc., were some of the major recruiters offering roles in Business Consulting

The Marketing area lived upto its ever rising expectations with recuiters like Dr. Reddy's, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCBPL), Godrej, Marico, Reckitt Benckiser, Tata Motors, Tata Steel and IDEA making their presence felt by recruiting 23% of the batch.

In the Finance sector, the campus was visited by the likes of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, SBI Capital Markets, Crisil, ICRA, HSBC, ICICI Bank which recruited 22% of the batch.

Systems received a great fillip with the major IT behemoths absorbing 22% of the batch. The likes of Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Polaris, HP ITO, Mindtree etc., offered diverse roles in the IT sector to the young, dynamic managers of XIMB.

The HR area witnessed the presence of recruiters like TATA HRDP, Shapoorji Pallonji, Tata Motors, Capgemini, L&T Group, Vedanta, recruiting 14% of the batch.

General Management, Strategy and Operations also witnessed a rise (around 5%) in recruitments with organizations like OLAM International handing out lucrative offers.

In the Silver Jubileee year of XIMB along with the flagship course of Business Management, we have started a two-year Post Graduate programme in Human Resource Management having exposure to varied HR subjects along with courses on labour and industrial laws.
