Management@Grassroots programme is another academic initative of XIMB which aims at providing community relevant course contents and pedagogy with active participation from the target audience of these courses. Pilot testing of the concerned courses along with its pedagogical approaches have been the hallmark of this creative initiative. As part of this unique programme, the first phase relating to pilot teaching certain courses was completed on 28th July, 2012. The pilot tested courses were Community Organization, Integrated Low Cost Agriculture, Post Harvest Management & Value Addition and Marketing. The course designers delivering the pilot teaching felt that this initiative was a tremendous value addition in terms of developing the fit between the capacity needs for the grass root level community organization and the content & pedagogy. The participants in the first phase of this programme included fourteen rural youth at the level of local resource persons (LRPs) and potential functional coordinators of Nava Jyoti farming community and seven participants from three NGOs working with different farming communities. The second phase of this programme is scheduled from 13 to 27 August, 2012.
